The Rise and Fall of Women Rights in Afghanistan

The struggle for women’s rights in Afghanistan stretches back to the nineteenth century. movement has waxed and waned, but advances have almost always been followed by retreats. collapse of Afghan government is due a wide variety factors. Of these, equality growing prominence women negligible, yet it likely that will pay highest price this collapse. In essay I discuss rise fall before after 9/11, highlighting social reforms, their positive negative impacts role state non-state actors supporting and/or reversing rights.
